I wrote the following in my journal in 1978 when my children were four and one: “I take great delight in the free expressions of my children as they unfold - life-long blossoms exhibiting ever-new wonders, each a universe as multifarious and beautiful as any external universe they grace with their wondering attention. Innocent, thorough, simple - each of them a god, as Emerson says somewhere, playing the fool.”
