“Happiness is not a goal; it is a by-product.” - Eleanor Roosevelt

From “Me Too, 365,” by Arnold Kunst

“Impermanence clings doggedly to the coattails of life. What I fondly assumed was this inevitably melds into that before my very eyes. A president sacrifices hours and dollars and miles and marriages to the insatiable bitch goddess Success, then watches his evanescent triumph melt into ashes and blood, for he is staring impotently at “lame duck” in but a few precious, fleeting months. We seek, endlessly seek, for the abiding in the ephemeral – but the only thing that seems to endure here is the endlessness of the quest.

The thumpingly obvious implication: make sure the quest is worth the price it will invariably cost.” - Arnold Kunst
