From “The Human Condition: A User’s Manual,” by Arnold Kunst
7 March
No matter
what you were born without, or how despairing the hand you’ve been dealt, be
assured you’ll get all of what counts by going at any one single desire/purpose
with breath-taking focus. In other words, you’re to pursue it with the
single-mindedness and persistence of a caterpillar becoming a butterfly. To
change the metaphor, you’re to bloom where you’re planted, like a flower
blossoming incongruously at 14,000 feet on some sheer alpine rock face.
