Lincoln loved to tell the story about how when he was a young man he met a woman who said to him, “Sir, you are the ugliest man I have ever seen.” “Well, Ma’am, I don’t reckon there’s much I can do about that,” said Lincoln. The women thought for a moment, then said, “Well, you could stay home.”
