From “Lincoln 365,” by Arnold Kunst:
April 9
The agony of The Civil War was summarized in the experience of a Kentucky family that lost two sons, one dying for the North the other for the South. Over the two graves of these soldier boys the family set up a joint monument; in addition to listing names, dates of birth and death and military units, the inscription concluded with the following poignant inscription: 'God knows which was right.'
'If the only tool you have is a hammer you'll treat every problem as a nail.'
- Abraham Maslow
